It is shocking news to the fashion world that the fashion forward British Designer Alexander McQueen has passed away.

Lee Alexander McQueen was a fashion genius, he refused to comprimise and was known for his 'shock tactics' on the runway, he was alway setting new trends.

Alexander McQueen was known for being controversial and not mincing his words, although his designs are loved by many celebs he once said - "I can't get sucked into that celebrity thing because I think it's just crass."

Alexander McQueen pushed the boundaries for his S/S 2010 collection in Paris.

My favourite design from Alexander McQueen was the butterfly print dress from his 2007 collection.

Alexander McQueen was known globally and loved by many celebrities.
New York fashion week has started, and many people are mourning the loss the fashion icon and paying tribute to McQueen. NYFW 2010 will definetly be a year which will be remembered.
